Foldera: Group Management Web Service

I received an email from Foldera a little while ago apologizing for the delay in activating a beta account. The name, Foldera, sounded familar but I couldn't place it for a few minutes. And, then in struck me... I had signed up around the time of the O'Reilly Emerging Technology Conference... Um, the 2006 conference! Yep, it took nearly 14 months for them to get around to letting me (and presumably a lot of other people) take a peek at their work. Sure, I should give them credit for not rushing to turn on accounts until they were ready and then for actually going through their database of requests. But, still :-)

In any case, I remember being interested in this 14 months ago, so I signed up. It kind of reminds me of Inbox.com with email, tasks, calendar, and file folders. The difference is that Foldera is designed to be a group service with interaction between people. I guess is is going after the Jotspot crowd. This would be a good time to do so since Google doesn't seem to be in any rush to get Jotspot back in action and accepting new accounts (I have one and like Jotspot, btw).

I'm not exactly sure why I was so interested in Foldera. But, it is late. Maybe it will come to me tomorrow morning.
