Auslogics Disk Defrag-Windows Disk Defragmerter (Freeware)
I wanted to defragment a couple of my hard drives without having to wait forever for the integrated Windows defragmenter or go out and pay for its more capable sibling Diskeeper 2007 Home or Professional. After looking around a bit, I decided to give...
...a try. It is a freeware utility that seems to do a pretty decent job of quickly (at least quicker than Windows' own defragger) defraging a hard disk.
My disks only defraged down to about 6 to 8% fragmentation (vs. the optimal 0 to 2% I hoped for). But, that may be a result of some pecularity of the files on my system (lots of virtual hard disks) or my lack of understanding of Windows hard disk fragmentation.
Still the price is right and Auslogics Disk Defrag seems to work well enough to keep my disks from slowing down too much because of fragmentation.
