WinDirStat: Windows Directory Statistics

WinDirStat gives you both a text list and graphical map of your hard drive space use. I tried it on a PC running Windows Vista. It detected all my drives (including my ReadyBoost USB flash drive) and worked very quickly on the 160GB D: drive I chose to check. Clicking on a specific rectangle causes the item in the list to be brought into focus so you can see which file it is and information about it. The big huge purplish rectangles you see are some of my Virtual PC virtual hard disk (VHD) files.

This is, of course, somewhat
This is, of course, somewhat of a rip of Grand Perspective for OS X.
Since Grand Perspective only
Since Grand Perspective only runs on Mac OS X and WinDirStat only runs on Windows, does it really matter???
No, course not; it's good
No, course not; it's good that Windows users have have a similar tool. It would have been a little nice if they credited Grand Perspective's developer, though.

That's a link taken right from the web site for Grand Perspective.
Why should he credit
Why should he credit GrandPerspective? Both are implementations of TreeMaps, which have been around since 1990 and were invented by Ben Schneiderman.
