U3 Uninstaller

I thought the U3 USB Flash smartdrive concept was pretty interesting: The ability to store and run applications directly from a USB thumb-flash drive seemed sort of a like a pseudo virtualization solution. In reality, however, I became more and more annoyed by U3's auto-installer (I kept forgetting to press the Shift key when insert the flash drive to prevent Windows auto-run). It also slowed the process of getting to my drive whenever I want to just store or retrieve a file to it. Since I never actually used a U3 application, this desire just to move a file around was 100% of the time. So, I was annoyed 100% of the time. It also turned out that the special U3 CDFS 5MB partition where the U3 Launcher lived could not be deleted using Windows' disk management utility (see image above). Fortunately, U3 provides a free downloadable utility to remove the CDFS partition and files from the flash drive. Note that it deletes everything since it needs to repartition the drive. So, be sure to backup your thumb drive before using the utility.
