Arduino Diecimila: Open Source Hardware and Software

I just bought the tiny and inexpensive Arduino Diecimila microcontroller board from the O'Reilly Maker Store. All information for the hardware is available on the manufacturer's site. And, the IDE (Integrated Development Environment) used for programming the board is Open Source...
IDEs are available for Linux, Mac OS X, and Microsoft Windows. I'm looking forward to using it to build a few projects this spring and summer. If anything comes of this plan, you'll see longer form blog-articles over on the O'Reilly Mac Center.

Load your Diecimila with SimpleMessageSystem from the archives at arduino.cc (or my mini-site) then get my package of shell scripts to control it from linux. Full IO & PWM control. GUI via Xdialog. AD is scaled to mV and CSV formatted for import to most spreadsheets. 100 AD readings (x6 chans) in under 40 seconds. Maximum flexibility. See http://user.cavenet.com/rolandl for the code.
