Intense Debate: Outsource Your Blog's Comment System

Like Disqus, I heard about the Intense Debate blog commenting web service on the net@nite podcast. Like Disqus, Intense Debate essentially outsources your blog's comment system by replacing it with theirs. The idea is that it gives more comment control to the blogger and a unified commenting system that comment makers can use across multiple blogs. Intense Debate seems to have a couple of advantages over Disqus: It can import existing blog comments into their system. And, it can export comments from their system to some format that can be used by other blog software.

I haven't tried out Intense Debate yet. However, I'm thinking about using it for a new blog I'm planning to start up in July. The long expected funding cut for my day job finally happened. So, I may have a bit more free time than usual starting on July 1.
